How to Convert MARC record into the MS Excel Format

  • STEP 1: Launch "MarcEdit7" software and open ".mrc" format file Click on > "Tools" > Export >  "Export Tab Delimited Records" (Figure 1).



  • STEP 2: Select file Paths input source select ".mrc file" and output ".txt file" save location where you want to save .text file, select "Tab (\t)" and click Next follow as in (Figure: 2). 




    • STEP 3: Check "Normalize filed data" option and add fields as per your requirements or tags and click on  "Export" button. as in (Figure: 3).

    Author
    Title
    Edition
    Place of Publication, etc.

    • STEP 4: Open Microsoft Excel and click "File" menu and click "Open" tab to open your .txt file in MS Excel (Figure: 4 & 5). 



    • STEP 5: Select "Delimited" option and click "Next" button (Figure: 6).

    • STEP 6: Check the "Tab" box option and click Next button. (Figure: 7).


    • STEP 7: Click the "Finish" button to complete process (Figure: 8).

    • STEP 8: You have done it and your Marc record will be converted into the MS Excel format (Figure: 9).
